America!

We hope everyone had a fabulous fourth! The majority of our holiday was spent in the hill country with Jack's friend and fraternity brother Zach and his lovely family. Friday night we drove out to Zach's parents house which is located out in Pipe Creek, TX and is very close to San Antonio. As soon as we got there I was handed a margarita and some dough and told to make my own pizza because Zach's dad was making them out on his green egg, (very jealous of this amazing cooking contraption by the way). I got to sit back, sip on my drink and munch on some fried rooster that they had just killed as an appetizer, (delicious!).

Mr. and Mrs. Miller (Zach's parents) have a wide variety of animals on their land that they keep to eat/raise/play with, (thus the fresh rooster) and were telling us all about the pregnant pigs they were raising. My ears of course perked up because I HAD to see them and since Jackson is also quite fond of animals he yanked on my dress and asked if he could see the piggies as well. We like to make animal noises all day long and his favorite noise is the one pig's make so when he got to see the piggies up close he was mesmerized by their size and their oinking.

After dinner we drove out to the Miller's lake house which is located in Lake Hills, TX and rested up because the following day was going to be full of adventures. The gordo once again insisted in sleeping in a bed instead of his pack n' play (ugh) and luckily enough our room was equipped with our bed as well as a twin mattress on the floor. What a punk huh? We are in serious discussions about getting this boy a big kid bed by the way...

Anyway, Saturday morning we woke up to the fresh smell of homemade Belgian waffles with all the fixins'. As always, Jackson stole the show as he descended the stairs and sat at the breakfast table in his America garb ready to conquer not only the day, but from the looks of things his country as well ;)

Saturday was spent out on the Miller's boats wakeboarding, swimming, splashing and water skiing. Jackson absolutely LOVED watching his dad wakeboard and was thoroughly impressed with his water skiing abilities. He asked if he could try it out but I think we'll wait until he's a little older.

After Saturday's lake adventures we took showers and settled down for dinner. The boy decided to wear the present Uncle Zach and Aunt Liz had bought for him a while ago and I think everyone thought it was pretty cute:

Uncle Zach calls Jack 'Big Angry Chief' as a nickname so Zach and Liz bought him the cutest little onesie with an appropriate nickname for the boy :)

We headed back to Austin Sunday morning and spent the rest of the holiday hanging out with family and friends. We had an absolute blast with the Millers and we can't wait for them to invite us back for even more home cookin' and outdoor fun!
