I AM Number ONE...

Two is not a winner and three nobody remembers...
Thanks Grammy and Pops for providing the cub with a sweet UT outfit. He loved it, rocked it, and even made spaghetti in it ;)

We're super excited about Halloween tomorrow but today is Gigi's birthday and so we bid her the biggest felicidades from Gordo, his mom and dad and his big brother Chaucer! Hope your having fun in Prague and Paris...Don't forget to bring us something back!!!

Momma's Little Helper

Lately Jackson is into EVERYTHING. Shocked? Yea, neither are we. I didn't think it was too big a deal though because he was just trying to help me clean the house.

Here he is helping me put away dishes:
And hiding from me while I vacuumed/steam-mopped. He is NOT a fan of clean floors apparently because he stood under the kitchen table for a good 30 minutes and hid/screamed the whole time. No joke.
Then one day the boy pulled out a bottle of bleach from under the kitchen sink. Done. Jack installed cabinet locks within minutes. However, now Jackson wants to know why he doesn't have access to his cleaning supplies...lemon pledge anyone? anyone?

(once again sorry for the annoying voice/smacking of food):

Jorge + Mayra = Party!

As you can tell by the picture my brother, Jorge and his beautiful bride, Mayra got married this past weekend. The wedding was spectacular and everyone (especially Mayra) looked GORGEOUS.

We had an absolute blast with the happy couple and the rest of our crazy family. I feel so honored to be a part of such a beautiful wedding and truly blessed that Mayra has decided to spend the rest of her life with Jorge. We made sure she knew what she was getting into and asked her various times if she was ABSOLUTELY positive she wanted to cross over to 'the dark side' (just kidding folks...we are good people ;)). Thankfully she obliged!
Here they are elated and after all the craziness that goes along with any wedding, ready to party.

Jackson chose to skip out on the festivites and instead asked if he could lounge around the hotel room. He's a bit anti-social and prefers reading his books and eating his bananas in complete solitude...
We were pretty surprised when he came downstairs during the cocktail hour to say congrats to his aunt and uncle but then he forgot who they were (even though he sees them about twice a week) and quickly reverted back to his room.

Maybe he just REALLY likes hotel rooms?!?! Actually, his stranger anxiety has escalated recently so if you get to see him soon don't be offended. He deeply loves you, he's just terrified to pieces of anyone but his Momma, Gigi, Uncle Josh and sometimes Daddy, (he wanted nothing to do with him tonight when he got home!).
On our way home we stopped in El Campo, TX to visit our friends William & Britni and their beautiful brood. They have two twin girls, Adde and Clare and a brand new little boy, Bennet. They are all too sweet and Jackson had a blast playing with all their neat toys...and yanking on the girls' hair :(

He hasn't quite grasped the 'no touching' concept and absolutely LOVES to tug on hair, skin, appendages, glasses, you name it. I swear I'm working on it. Needless to say the girls were none too excited to have to sit next to him for picture time. I can't blame them, I wouldn't trust this boy either.
After some coaxing we got all three kids together and took some great pics! I only wish I had gotten one of Bennet. He was such a sweet little boy. I have a feeling Bennet and Jackson will have lots of fun getting into LOADS of trouble together.
Thanks for having us Key family! And CONGRATULATIONS to my brother and now sister, Mayra!

Chorizo

While it may be my favorite ingredient in my breakfast taco, this post has nothing to do with food (well kinda). Chorizo, is the name of the potbelly pig that lives in our neighborhood and Jackson's newest friend. Jack and I have met Chorizo in the past but it has been a LONG time since we've seen him and definitely never with Jackson in tow.

I was WAY too excited to see him coming up the street on our walk the other day and asked his owner if we could please let Jackson pet him and take pictures. Jackson only seemed mildly amused. If you've hung out with him recently you know the boy has mastered the 'I'm too good for you/snob' face and was definitely giving Chorizo one of 'those' looks.
Jackson's brother Chaucer on the other hand was OVER THE MOON excited to see Chorizo again and while he was wary of the piggy he did not bark or growl at him, (In Chaucer's world this means he loves you).
We learned a whole lot about pot belly pigs from Chorizo's owner and they seem to be pretty remarkable animals. We're even thinking about trading in our current model (Chaucer) for a newer and better one :)...j/k Burrito! Your stuck with us! Mwah ha hahahaha!

Next adventure: The Godfather gets hitched! Check back next week for some crazy fun pics :). Also, special shout out to Gigi and Abuelo for taking of our sweet little cub this past weekend while we indulged in Angie's wedding weekend in Dallas. Jackson said he had a blast with y'all and he thanks you especially for the new clothes and the 30 or so p.j.'s you bought him. Jeez...

Pumpkin Patch Kid

{Insert kid in pumpkin patch picture here}
Yes, we are those people. The people that take pictures of their kids in pumpkin patches. If you have a child I'm sure you are also that person. You know what? It's fun!
We went to Sweet Berry Farms (in Marble Falls, TX) on Saturday so that Jackson could experience his first pumpkin patch. While there he also picked flowers, ate roasted corn, met a horse and fed goats! We had a blast to say the least.
We'll definitely be going back to this place every year as the boy seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself.
Additionally, Friday night we took him downtown for his first Greek experience at the annual Mediterranean Festival. He's part Greek after all so he should get to know his roots right?! My Tata will be so proud to hear that he LOVED the festival and his favorite part? The dancing! OPA!!

A new car seat?!

Perhaps. Still not quite ready to bite the bullet on this though as there is a lot more investigating we have to do. In the meantime, we've had loads of fun testing out all sorts of seats and Mr. Jackson is of course partial to the most expensive one in the store. Sticker shock? Not for this kid...

BEST.Husband.EVER.

So I am well aware that there is a 'Jack Fan Club' (my friends) and that there are certain people that feel bad for Jack for having to be married to me (my family) and even those who think that my parents are paying Jack on the side for his continued devotion (my brothers). So this post is for y'all...

This past weekend would have marked my first time alone with Jackson. Just him and I--no friends, no family--nothin'. Jack was off at a bachelor party in Vegas celebrating his friend, Scott. While I was pretty excited about it just being the cub and I, I was also a tad scared just because he is so active now that I can barely even stand by the end of the day.

Jack is always a huge relief to me when he comes home, not to mention our weekends are sacred 'family time' because of the weekday rush. We would be missing Jackson's 'dada' (as he calls him now) terribly.

The sweet husband sensed this and gave me the best surprise ever. Saturday morning as I was feeding the boy breakfast the doorbell rang and I opened the door to a beautiful arrangement of flowers.
The attached note was from Jack that gave me instructions to look in the glove compartment of my car for a surprise. There, I found a letter from Jack and Jackson telling me I had a Sunday spa day and that the cub would be taken care of by Jack's favorite babysitter, Ashley.

To say I was shocked is a complete understatement. To say I am in complete AWE of Jack, is also just that...an understatement.

So my weekend went from this:
(I had to bathe both kids as they were dirty from playing outside and I didn't know how else to do it)

TO THIS!!!
Jack, you truly are amazing. Also, my dear friend Angie ended up coming into town making me dinner, giving me wine and best of all keeping us company :). What was going to be a scary weekend ended up turning into a truly fab one!
