My Fishes

These boys had so much fun while in El Paso. The best part about being home is having a pool to access at all hours of the day. It makes days go by really fast when Jackson and James are burning energy swimming like fish all day long.
Jackson is swimming really well these days and only needs us around for supervision really. He is SO cautious though and will only swim if/when we are around and for not too far of distances. He CAN swim really well but prefers to stay close "JUST in case".

James on the other hand.....well he is DANGEROUS. The boy is OBSESSED with water and with NOT being held so those are bad combinations. He thinks he can swim just fine and is constantly pushing the limits with himself and us. He literally throws himself from the pool stairs, the cool deck and off anyone that is holding him for that matter.

He's actually getting really good at holding his breath and kicking so at least we've got that going for us....

Easterstravaganza 2014

Easter was quite a show this year. With two very active boys, it's twice the excitement, twice the thrills and twice the fun! Per our usual MO we spent Easter in El Paso. Just has a nice ring to it, no? Easter in El Paso. Anyhow, this year our cousin, Nicholas came in from Arizona so it was actually THREE times the fun and excitement with an extra boy added to the mix!
We told Jackson and James Nico was coming down for the weekend and both boys were SO excited for his arrival! He came in semi-late on Friday evening so James unfortunately didn't make it (he was exhausted) but Jackson was READY to go (in his pj's of course)!
As you can see, as soon as Nico walked in Jackson dumped out all of his El Paso dinosaurs and the boys played while the adults enjoyed a GOOD Friday meal...
Everyone except the dogs of course....
We ate pretty quickly and called it an early night as everyone was pretty tired from the days events and we were gearing up for Easter anyhow.

The following morning we had breakfast on the patio and enjoyed a relaxing day by the pool....
Isn't my mom incredible? Every meal, different dining table, different place/table settings. I mean, she's pretty awesome. Only problem is this is the kind of service I expect everywhere else I go. She's set the bar pretty high...
The boys all played SO well together and enjoyed all of their meals at their very own table, complete with place settings. See, mami, you've ruined us. All of us....
On Easter Sunday we woke up bright and early and once again had breakfast on the patio. After cleaning up inside we realized we had JUST missed the Easter bunny and ran outside to try and catch her!

Unfortunately we weren't fast enough but guess what?! She left some pretty rad Easter baskets behind for the boys to enjoy...
The boys could NOT believe it!

Once they dumped out their loot it was time to search for eggs and search for eggs they did! They were relentless!

Until they found Peeps that is...
The hunt went on for quite some time (the Easter bunny had A LOT of eggs to hide)...
But James tired quickly and decided it best to focus on one egg at a time. Only problem is he stopped at one egg. It was cute, and really what do you expect from a 10-month old? I was impressed he found one!
He discussed his findings with his older brother....
and then asked for his personalized bunny. All three boys were very sweet with their bunnies. They loved and loved on them and now sleep with them nightly, it's so cute :)
Family pic YES!!!! (this NEVER happens!)
and one with my boys (this NEVER happens, YES!!!!)
To end the most perfect of weekends, we had delicious steaks on (you guessed it) another epic table. Seriously, my mom is the best...
After dinner we bathed up and said our goodbyes to Nicholas because he was leaving the next morning back to Arizona....
We were soooo sad to see him go. Jackson seems to be particular about who he plays really well with. I mean, he gets along with everyone, but he only plays well with some people and Nico is definitely one of them. It was a bittersweet goodbye but we were thankful to spend our Easter Sunday with our family. We love them and miss them dearly!
Special thanks to Mami and Papi for hosting and making the boys feel like the Kings they are :).

Sea World

Jackson had been begging Jack and I forever to go back to Sea World. He hadn't been since right before James was born and he had been itching to return. He was ready and rearing to go in a matter of minutes and put himself in the car, his seat and asked for all of his sunglasses. He has quite a collection...
The boys loved it, of course, and Jackson was an excellent tour guide to our James. He showed his little brother all of the sites and explained (very carefully) what each of the animals and exhibits were. It was too sweet.
James' favorite exhibits were the ones that involved aquariums. James is so obsessed with all things water and it's so fun to see his face light up when he sees something for the first time. He is so happy and smiley all of the time so he's just that much brighter and happier when he gets excited.
He tried so hard to keep up with the big guys...
But then decided it may be best to stick with momma. My sweet baby, he's getting so big lately...
We caught a walrus/sea lion show...
Rode the merry-go-round, (James' first time!)
and called it a day. On our way home the boys napped and were relaxed enough to keep going for a bit once in Austin so we decided to swing by the Four Seasons for an early dinner and so the boys could get the last of their energy out on the lawn.
It was a pretty perfect day...
