Halloween 2014

Halloween 2014 came and went and thankfully all went really well. Our cubs had strong opinions on what they wanted to be this year and ultimately, after multiple costume changes, Jackson was a dragon and James was Dr. Raudales (my dad).

Jack and I knew this is what they would be all along, but it just took both of them some time to jump on board. The costume changes were mostly on Jackson's part but I'm glad he decided on a dragon instead of a Batman/Dragon/Thor combo or a Thor/King ensemble he had planned for a minute.
Jackson got to dress up for school but James did not, but he SURE did enjoy posing, and I'm not one to not take pictures, so here ya go;
After a fun day at school with what I heard were some pretty amazing Halloween activities for both boys, my mom and her friend and ours, Tia Marisela showed up from El Paso. They drove in because they watched the boys while Jack and I were away on holiday on a much-needed-deserved, adult-only vacation. More on that later...

We celebrated my mom's birthday with the most beautiful bee cake they had made in El Paso just for the occasion (and champagne. OF COURSE):
Afterwards, it was time to get dolled up for some trick-or-treating! I promise the boys were so excited, but they rarely sit still long enough to get a picture.
Jackson did so well this year! Lots of pleases and thank you's and he was good about not eating the candy and instead, put it in the bag and walked on over the next house. James on the other hand...Well, let's just say he made it to a total of 2 houses and then I decided it'd be best to go our separate ways. Jack and Jackson forged forward and James and I went home to bathe.
Isn't  he cute though? Everyone always says he looks my dad so Jack thought it'd be hilarious to dress him up this year just like him. He was right, he looked pretty funny as a mini Dr. Raudales....
Once home, I bathed James and he learned that giving is just as fun (if not more) than receiving. He was a great little helper at giving out candy to the neighborhood kids.
and to his Gigi...
I heard Jack and Jackson had the most amazing time on their treating, and once back Jackson helped hand out the remainder of the Halloween candy with Jack on the front porch. I wish I would have gotten a picture, but I was so frazzled about packing and leaving the next day I completely blanked. I can attest that they looked super cute together sitting on the front porch and I'm fairly certain this was Jackson's best Halloween yet!
