A Little Off the Top
Today was a big day for our Sweet Baby James. He received his very first haircut! You all shouldn't be too surprised as Jackson received his first cut when he was a mere 3 months old. It was a miracle I waited until James was a little over 5 months old!
His uneven "hair" (because he hardly has any) was getting to me. So while I admit, it wasn't really necessary, it makes me breathe A LOT easier now that the boy has perfectly-even perfect "hair".
Also, Jackson had just had his 58th haircut (not really, but it feels that way) and asked if James could get one too so I couldn't really say no to the boy. What's more? Malena, my amazing hairstylist from childhood and Jackson's first haircut lady was the one doing the cutting, so it just felt right.
James looks worried here, but he did wonderful. He didn't even fidget! He is so awesome. They both are. We really lucked out in the boy department, I couldn't be happier with both of them :)
Just look at this kid:
James grabbed his car seat, bid adieu, high-fived his brother and checked one more milestone off his life list. Haircut--IN THE BAG!

Gigi's Birthday Party
My mom's birthday was a few weeks ago and we had a mini celebration at home because Jackson asked for it.
He knew my parents were coming in for the weekend and I told him we were going to sing 'Happy Birthday' to Gigi so he asked me to have a 'Real Birthday Party' for her. It was too sweet so I happily obliged. We made it bee themed because my mom and I are big fans of bees. I put it together while the boys were napping and both Jackson and James couldn't wait to go down to sleep since they knew they'd be getting cake when they woke up. Well Jackson anyways, James was just happy to participate!
A successful birthday party to say the least. As a present, my mom and dad got to take care of the boys for the weekend because Jack and I had an out of town wedding. What a good daughter I am huh?
Jack and I had too much fun with our friends at the wedding and I'm fairly certain my parents were VERY thankful to see us Sunday when we got back. These boys are a handful!
Feliz CumpleaƱos Mami y gracias a los dos por cuidar a los gordos!

Ahead of ourselves
My parents and I have gone a little overboard on matching Christmas pajamas for the boys. Y'all are just being warned--it's going to get reallllll cute around here. Sorry....

Halloween 2013
This year Halloween was extra fun because Jackson fully understood what all was going on. I feel like I'll say that from here on out for our holidays, so just bear with me. First up, trick-or-treating in our hood!
Jackson and James were ready to go decked out in their Halloween finest. Jackson--a terrible triceratops and James--a beaming bumblebee. They were too cute :)
We hit up Jackson and James' friends Aaron and Summer's house first. They live about 3 houses down from us and we play with them a few times a week. Jackson and Aaron enjoy chasing each other with sticks and dumping sand and James and Summer enjoy chewing their hands and staring at their crazy brothers.
It just so happened (by shear coincidence I SWEAR!) James and Summer were both bumblebees for Halloween! Too sweet.
Pops joined in on the Halloween festivities and we were happy to have him.
After hitting up a few homes on our street we did our usual and visited our friend Matt Davis' parent's house. If you recall he is our friend (and Jack's law partner), Holly's husband. His parents live in the most amazing neighborhood full of fun loving people and deer that run around just as much as the people do.Jackson and James had a blast! They hung out on the front lawn for a good 30 minutes or so. They were happy to just sit there and let all the older girls in the neighborhood tell them how cute they were. Lady killers my boys. Of course they still prefer their momma though. Can you blame them? ;)
Soon after Jackson's friend, (and Matt and Holly's son) Max arrived escorted by none other than Thor! Matt's costume was hysterical...
The boy's enjoyed some trick-or-treating and togetherness. Jackson and Max chased each other around the neighborhood and to this day the cub enjoys telling me that he loved 'crashing into Max'. I guess that's what he calls chasing?
Happy (belated) Halloween y'all!
